100% recommend
Staff was AMAZING! All day food was delicious! The pool was huge and fresh each day. Big plus to have a deep end and a toddler section. Our family of 13 made amazing memories. The hospitality can not be beat. 100% recommend.

Amazing Stay
It was such an amazing stay! Every single staff member was super welcoming and friendly! The food was delicious, great options, overall very satisfied! Luis, the Director of Food and Beverage is so thoughtful and knowledgeable. He took great pictures of my family! Always had a smile on his face. He made a world of a difference for our stay!

Camera guasta
Camera guasta. I am at catalonia bayahibe since monday and I have a problem with my room since i arrived. The shower leaks, the drain doesn't work well, and the bathroom door doesn't close. After 3 days they fixed, quite bad, only shower. I'm sorry but I don't recommend it.

Beverly satisfied but food and animation could be better
The food could be tastier and is often cold… and animation could be better. The creperie was not functioning well. Few crepe stations for so many people, 40 minutes waiting for a crepe… The beach, pool and bars are good and I am satisfied with the room (red bracelet).

Almost fantastic
The Excellent: the beach, by far is one of the best and there’s no sargassum in the area so absolutely perfect. We went snorkeling right off the shore and saw some amazing sea life. Also the bartender at Terrace - Leonel went above and beyond and deserves to be recognized. The Good: rooms were clean and spacious, the grounds are well kept. Entertainment was always available if wanted but also easy enough to get away from if needing peace and quiet. There was never a lack of loungers at the beach or the pool even though they claimed the hotel was full. Reservations were easy to make through the app and guest services (with some prodding) were able to schedule daily room service with coffee, milk for the baby, and some breads and fruits at the same time daily (setting it up this way made for prompt service). There were some servers who stood out: Heidi, Sylvia, Lisset, Candy, Jasson, and Guicsi. Food was good. It wasn’t excelllent but I don’t expect that from resorts. We were always able to find something to eat and sometimes we’re pleasantly surprised. I recommend the ossobucco at the Italian place and the goat dish at Yucca. The Mediocre: the minibar only had beer as a boozy option, no little bottles of alcohol. There was no service at the pool or the beach (had to go to the bar). The service in general in most restaurants was kind of slow with the exception of the staff mentioned in the section above. Tipping helped this but only to a point. AC went out in our room at one point but they did get it fixed by night time. The towel cards were not my favorite but they weren’t super militant about it like some resorts. It was hard to communicate with some folks when ordering because of the language barrier (my Spanish is quite mediocre and it could be my fault). The Bad: none of the dining options were indoors, meaning no AC. It was hot there and very tolerable doing beach and pool activities all day but after showering and getting dressed up it was very uncomfortable to have dinner because we were constantly sweating. The only place to escape the heat was our room or their shopping center. The Worst: having dinner at the Terrace restaurant was really problematic. The first time we tried we got seated and waited for about 30 minutes to have our order taken. We were hungry so we left and went to the buffet. The second time we tried we already knew what we wanted to order and said we were ready when we got seated. They took our order and brought the apps. Then we sat for 30 minutes after finishing the apps with empty dishes on our table and empty water and wine glasses. They didn’t come back with our main course or to refill our drinks. I asked someone there and seemingly had to place a new order. We eventually got food but it was like a 3 hour experience. Mostly not enjoyable. Overall I think the resort was quite nice but we won’t be coming back because of the lack of indoor dining, definitely not in July at least. Thanks for reading and safe travels!
