Aug 28, 2023Fantastic resort in Punta Cana
First, you can tell it's a newer resort by the design and decor of the rooms and buildings. The layout of the resort is well thought out. It's not small, but not overly large. You can access all amenities, restaurants, etc. with a short walk. For the food, there were some dishes that were lackluster but most of the food that we had was great. The room was big, clean, contemporary and was cleaned once or twice a day. Pools and water park were great to have fun in for all ages, our kids loved it. Staff were great and I wish I had wrote down more names to call them out. Servers at the buffet, Oceana, club lounge, arcade, pools, and kids club were fantastic. Pool entertainment and nighttime entertainment staff were great as well. We had a preferred club suite which I believe was worth the extra cost. With preferred status, we had access to the club lounge which could be accessed until 11pm and provided a range of snacks and an exclusive bar. We also had our butler, Harlem, take care of various things during our stay from booking a specialty restaurant, arranging birthday and anniversary decor for other rooms in our party, and arranging our luggage pickup when checking out. Although we probably did not utilize him as often as we could have, that was our fault. A big reason for choosing this resort was that the beach was less prone to seaweed. On the first few days, the beach was clear of seaweed. It's also big, has nice, fine sand, and was not crowded. In the middle of our trip, a ton of seaweed prevented use of the beach further. Many different employees and a couple of locals told us that this is the worst they ever saw it so it might be a very rare occurrence. Near the end of our stay, tropical storm franklin came through and a ton of rain hit the resort. As a result, a lot of water flooded some floors of our building. The cleaning staff worked relentlessly to get the water out and prevent water from going in rooms. Overall, the decor, food, staff, amenities made this resort fantastic. I would definitely recommend Dreams Macao to anyone looking for a stay at a Carribean resort.

Aug 28, 2023Dreams Macao was a Nightmare!!
We are not “review-writers,” but our experience at this resort was so appalling. We paid for “Preferred Guest” status but they failed to assign us a butler. We found out from other guests on the last day that we should have had one. What a waste. They don’t take reservations at the select restaurants so your evenings are spent in a hunt for tables that leaves you eating at 10pm, if you’re lucky AND patient. The buffet is nearly inedible – meaning several of us could find nothing that looked appetizing on the entire buffet and we are not classically picky eaters. Our room leaked rivers (during Tropical Storm Franklin). The resort is only supposed to be a few years old! We were constantly calling maintenance and housekeeping with room issues with about a 30% resolution rate. I spent more time talking to them that week than some of my kids. We killed two spiders in the room that were 5” in diameter. I thought one of them was a maintenance man at first. There’s so much more but only 200 words to review. Beware! Be warned!!! Note: our bellman on the last day, Carlos "The Fresh Prince," was amazing. The best interaction we had all week.

Beautiful resort including the pools and beach. The food, drinks and service were all fantastic. Thank you Dreams Macao and thank you especially to our butler Domingo for always making sure we had everything we needed!

Heaven Right Here On Earth
We went for a wedding so there were lots of family and friends staying at the resort. Each room type was unique with beautiful scenery surrounding. The beach view suites were my favorite but our villa was also beautiful and very spacious and included a small private pool. The customer service was exquisite!!! Not only were they super accommodating but they went above and beyond to ensure the stay was heavenly and amazing. The food was authentic and good. The "spirits" were holy... The club was on point with a mixture of music that kept everyone on their feet. My family and I have added this resort to our annual travel agenda going forward, it appears Dominican Republic will be our 2nd home.

excellent service and drinks , room are modern and clean . Our concierge was JC ( Juan Carlos ) his services was outstanding one of the best in all the resort we have visited. All the server are the restaurants are very professional and they help you with all your needs.
