Jorge Mojica took very good care of us. He helped us get reservations and helped my husband decorate our room for my 50th birthday! Jorge seems to genuinely enjoy his job and the people he meets. Thank you for an amazing vacation! We will definitely be back.

Majestic Colonial Punta Cana is a must visit, don’ think twice!
Our trip to Punta Cana was nothing short of amazing, relaxing, and extremely accommodating from the staff. We had Joel our butler! If you’re lucky enough to have him, your trip will only be more perfect as he’s friendly, quick to help, and always has something for you to smile about. The restaurants on site are phenomenal to experience as there is a wide range of culture behind all of them, something new for each night. The beach is well kept and perfect for a sunny day, plenty of activities all day long and whether you want to be by the pool or by the bar, you can’t go wrong with finding a spot that’ll make you enjoy each day more and more! Definitely returning!

Best Resort and staff ever!
The Best experience I have every had. The resort was amazing the rooms were incredible the food was amazing so much to choose from the drinks were the best I have ever had in my life. Everything was so fresh and so clean. The staff was incredible. Our butler Wensky was on point with everything he was so welcoming incredibly nice. He spoke English and made me and my daughter feel right at ease. He was so courteous and very attentive. I will definitely say I will be coming back and would love for Wensky to be my butler again.

Aug 28, 2023Not 5-star, really disappointing if you’re traveling a long way
On the plus side, a few of the staff are really nice and the kids pool are fun and the kids love them. Overall though it was really disappointing. There are a few things I would have liked to have known before booking though; The colonial is one of 3 majestic hotels on a large shared site and the colonial is the ‘family one’, aside from the kids pool they are not family focused. An example of this is they have 5 restaurants at night, one a buffet 4 others are menu orientated, none of these offer kids meals. They advertise a kids club, this is not how I would describe it. The staff are nice but it’s not an arrangement where you can can leave them and they’re a group of kids who have fun and do activities together, it is just the pool area, the small activities they do are not well facilitated or planned, its also not a kids club where you can Leave your kids, I wouldn’t recommend leaving your kids alone here. Some of the staff are rude, and standoffish and don’t seem to like like hotel guests. There is a really bad tipping culture at the hotel, in that they expect a tip to serve you or even smile, not as recognition. Countless times I was ignored at the bar or treated like something on the end of their shoe. Even when you do tip them it doesn’t seem to make a difference, aside from them actually speaking to you. I can’t stress enough, this really impacts the experience here and it’s nothing like 5-star. The entertainment in the evenings is really bad. There’s no acts brought in and all are delivered by the hotel staff. Their style is shouty and slightly awkward and trying to get people to come up and sing and dance on the stage, not a show. It’s feels cheap and made me wish we were at hotel that provided good entertainment. There is no real option to leave the hotel either and no resort to speak of, so this was a real issue. The hotel feels quite worn out and uncared for. There’s a sports bar on site and I was hoping they might screen the heavy weight world title fight that was on oneevening, they didn’t, the screen were just nfl and baseball that may well have been re-runs there was certainly no interest by any guests in it. It was really disappointing ☹️ I think if your from the US or closer to the Dominican Republic and this is a cheap break then maybe do it but if like us you’re coming from Europe and this is a significant investment don’t do it, go somewhere else. From looking at other negative results no doubt it’ll be received with a ‘thanks for your feedback’ type response and ‘we’re sorry you didn’t enjoy.. ‘ etc. Majestic don’t bother, just try listening, investing and fixing some of the engagement/service levels in some of your staff, particularly your bar staff. ☹️

The resort is really nice. The customer service from the staff is hit or miss. The pool was huge, lots of space. But.... the resort if not very kid friendly. The water park is very small, my kids were bored within five minutes of staying. The kids playroom was really small and outdated.
