Nice
We stayed at RIU Palace Punta Cana in Aug 2023 and I have never written a review about a hotel before but think this can help! Pros: Hotel is clean and Air Con is good with a great location right on a beautiful beach. The sand is amazing. We had a really good cleaner called Yazminka and the food id also lovely, lots of different options. Anna in the restaurant does a brilliant job. Cons: The room location was not great, ask for a room in the block with 1s and you will be fine overlooking the beach it hotel. We faced the mail lobby. The location of the hotel is not great if you like to experience the culture of the DR. It is off a main highway about 45mind from the airport so it is in the middle of nowhere. Also this caters mainly for Spanish speakers, there is not really a Caribbean vibe here, despite it being beautiful. The room service is non existent and the entertainment was a key let down with one man on every night singing in Spanish. I’m not sure why they do not have folk songs or local entertainment at this hotel. It does rain in the DR but only in short bursts and this did not affect our time here.

Amazing holiday at the Riu Palace Punta Cana!
We had a truly fantastic time, from start to finish. Staff are wonderful - Nelson (front desk), Maria and Anna (housekeeping), Marino and Ray (Waiting on), and Junior at the pool bar made our stay memorable 😀

Avoid this one
Restaurants were subpar when it came to variety and taste. Nightly entertainment and disco sucked. Played 90% merengue music. Couldn't get towels as needed and drinks were weak. Some hotel staff were very condescending. If you had questions about the "coupons" and their use, you were told to READ. DUH! We did read and it didn't make sense, thus we had questions.

GREAT RESORT
Everything was awesome at your resort; however, the beds were a little hard and uncomfortable and in one of our rooms the A/C was not working well. But overall it was a fantastic vacation and stay at Riu Palace and would definitely stay there again and will tell our friends to come visit you as well.

Smells like mold. No AC. Terrible food. Steer clear.
This shouldn’t be considered a 5 star hotel. If you’ve ever been exposed to luxury, don’t come here. The rooms wreak of mold and must, the sheets smell humid, the ac barely works (at full blast the coldest it got is 76 degrees in our room…), the food is horrible, the wine tasted watered down, the liquor in the cocktails has a horrible after taste. Not to mention, I was not once served a proper frozen cocktail. May as well have been just juice with crappy liquor in it. The shower water is so rough my hair is insanely dry and full of knots. If you like swimming in the ocean, stay away. There is about a 5 foot deep wall of sea grass washed ashore, and you have to wade through tons of sea grass to get into deeper water. Go to the pool instead? Yea sure if you want to get into a hot tub when it’s 100 degrees and sunny. The most offensive overall is the disgusting smell in the rooms. I cannot wait to go home. Overall a very poor experience. In American standards, this would be a 2/3 star hotel maximum.
